Staff spoke in a positive manner about the people they cared for and had taken the time to get to know people’s preferences and wishes. Staff had a good understanding of people’s needs and this was demonstrated in their responses to people and recognition of when people required additional support. Our observations showed that staff offered people a choice in how they spent their day. During our inspection visit we observed that staff were friendly and approachable. They spent time sitting with people to offer them comfort or stimulation. We observed staff delivering care which met people’s individual needs and which supported them in a respectful and appropriate way. This site offers providers of services, accommodation and related advice a free opportunity to advertise what you do. The site’s 4 million visitors a year comprise roughly 45% older people, 45% younger family and relatives, and 10% professionals who work with older people.

Our highly-trained, dedicated members of staff will always be on hand to provide your care and support in the way that best suits you, in the comfort of your own room with en suite facilities. We saw that people’s care records contained information about their preferences and interests, but some care records were not always kept up to date. This meant people were at risk of receiving inconsistent or unsafe care. Care records were not stored securely which meant that people’s personal information was not kept safely. Where possible they were offered choice on how they wanted their care delivered and were given choices throughout the day.
There are several ways in which you can stay in touch with your loved ones. Protecting our residents, caring for them in a safe and secure environment is our number one prioirty. We ensure regular deep-cleaning of all areas and robust infection control measures in place at all times. Willowcroft is a purpose-built home built over two floors and has recently undergone a £135,000 refurbishment.

We have not found evidence that we need to reassess the rating at this stage. We reviewed the information and data available to us about Willowcroft on 8 December 2022. Recruitment procedures ensured suitable staff were employed to work with people who used the service. Arrangements were in place to assess and monitor the quality of the service. However further improvement was needed to ensure these systems were effective.

After the assignment stage, you will have a video/onsite interview with our team. After the recruiter interview, you will receive an assignment from us. You may have 4-5 days to finish this and the assignment usually takes 2-4 hours to complete. Coordinate/coach the developer’s participation in the team's test activities. At the time of this inspection there were 56 people using the service, some of whom are living with dementia. The service is located in Spondon in Derby which has amenities and good transport links. Willowcroft is registered to provide personal care for up to 60 older adults, which may include some people living with dementia. This inspection was unannounced and took place on 15 September 2016.
We observed staff interacting with people who used the service in a caring and positive manner, but we saw that people’s support plans were not always followed. People, relatives and staff spoke very highly of the registered manager and felt the home was well-led. Just be aware that we do not provide housing or care services ourselves, so we cannot accept applications for housing and do not have any control over the services listed on our site. With a few exceptions, accommodation in a care home cannot be bought or rented like retirement housing. Think of them more like full-board hotel accommodation with 24 hour care available.
